is not too kind (in more ways than one) to the visiting Romans, as they win (8–4)
Great season girls...they all had an awesome
night and kept their heads in the game, when being pushed around a little bit by
our opponents. Way to play fair girls!!! We are very proud of this season and
know the girls will continue on in their winning ways both on and off the
field!!!
See you at the banquet!! - Coach Bledsoe

It’s another one for the home team as Rome beats visiting East Syracuse-Minoa
(10 – 4)
Another
year is coming to an end with our last home game... All our 8th graders
finished the last few minutes of a winning game. We are proud of our two year
veteran 8th graders - Michelle Baker, Katie Cole, Victoria Ceravolo,
Jessica Harvey, Kelsey Lovett, Angela Marcoccia, Leigh Nicholas, Merideth
Stuart, Alex Towne and much thanks to our first year 8th graders -
Shannon Farrell, Justina Henderson, Kristen Sharpe and Carissa Thompson. Way to
go girls, great season so far. One more game to call it a season and we plan on
doing our best on Thursday!!! Join us as we play
C-NS in
Syracuse. (Don't ask me how to get there, I never know-Ha ha!) Great game to
all our girls!!! - Coach Bledsoe
May 26, 2005 – Bees
sting Knights, but not by much! (B’ville 10 – RFA 8)
What a
game against B'Ville. We started the game slow at first. Both teams were slow
to score, then we all started scoring over and over. At one point Rome was up
5-1 against B'ville. It was very exciting. We passed around, our defense was
awesome they kept the other team outside the fan as much as possible.
Merideth was jumping like a lemur in the middle, way to go Merideth!!! Kelsey
Lovett, Leigh Nicholas and Michelle Baker were a force to be reckoned with down
on defense. Way to go girls!!! Alex Towne picked up the pace, since Katie could
not be at the game. Playing the whole 50 minutes and making some awesome runs
down the field. The running scared us,
but boy
were we proud (ha, ha)!!! Good job girls! - Coach Bledsoe

Little Lady Knights go for the tie against host Wellwood Middle School (RFA 11-
F-M 11)
Another
great game for the little lady knights. We exchanged goals all night long. What
an even game. We were
ahead by
two goals with three minutes left and they were able to sneak by us and score
two more times.
Defense
was a biggie for us tonight. Kristen Sharpe stepped up and made a big catch
tonight!! Way to go Kristen! Carissa Thompson made her first goal and that was
very exciting!!! Team work was what we were all about
tonight
at Wellwood. Way to go girls! If we did not have all the 24 saves from our
goalies, we would have been
in bad shape tonight…way to go Alex and Katie...Next game Thursday, B'Ville bring it on-ha ha!!! - Coach Bledsoe
May 19, 2005 – Little Lady Knights
win on the road at Clary Middle School (RFA 11 – Clary 7)
Tonight’s
game was an example of working together passing and shooting and working the ball
around the field. Erin Thomas had an awesome game of passing off the ball with
6 assists!!! Way to go Erin Thomas! Erica Foley and Angela Marcoccia jumped
in the center to add some excitement to the game. Katie Cole had her
first goal this year...Ooops
what
team is she on anyway ha ha. If we can't laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at
? Michelle Baker has been on the hunt for her first goal...wait isn't she on
defense? What’s up with that ha ha...Brittany Bruce had some hustles to the
ball…way to RUN Brittany! Good job
tonight girls!!! - Coach Bledsoe
May 17, 2005 – West Genny Wildcats
had a tough battle against the Little Lady Knights (W.G. 9 – RFA 5)
This was
an awesome game the girls really showed that they can run with the big dogs. We
could not score in the first half, but we told the team that if West Genny
could score 5 times against us in the first half we could do the same thing. We
knew once we scored, we could do it again!!! Now we wish we had set our sights
on 10 goals, not just 5 (ha-ha). Everyone had a great game against a very tough
team. Our goalies had 14 saves which were potentially more goals...
good job goalies!! An open net goal from almost half way down the field
was another sign of some great lacrosse. Who thought of the off sides
rule anyway??? Defense was great, even Baker almost scored on a run from
the other end - way to go Baker! – Coach Bledsoe

The Little Lady
Knights win against visiting Liverpool (10 – 5)
Outstanding game. Defense was tight as usual !!! Michelle
Baker had some fine runs to the other end of the field. Leigh Nicholas helped
out in front of the goal more then once. Tonight, Jennifer Kean got a few
groundballs to send it to the other end for our team. Carissa Thompson made
some nice moves in the game tonight. She is quick on her feet and was real key
at the wing. Good game tonight !!! - Coach Bledsoe
May 3, 2005 – Rome
wins on the road against Fulton (12 –
10)
Tonight
was a showing of team work we finally nailed a wonderful play....We set up, we
threw the ball, we SCORED!!!! Hooooooorrrrrraaaayyyy for team work. I am sooo
proud of our modified girls, this is what it is all about for a coach.
Tonight
Brittany Bruce ran fast to pick up a bunch of overthrown shots, she made a real
difference for us on offense. Merideth Stuart set a freaky pick tonight (is
this lacrosse or basketball…ha ha). Kelsey and Leigh were the dynamic duo down
on defense. Katie way to go on the saves tonight, Alex was very proud of you
!!! Great game, keep up the good work!!!
- Coach Bledsoe

Rome falls to host Jamesville-Dewitt (17 – 7)
Our first
loss was not fun but we were able to walk away with our heads up. When we face
the tough teams in Syracuse, we are thrilled to even score against some of the teams that have
been playing together for years!! They are teams we watch and work hard to try
to beat. Our girls scored 3 times in the last 1 minute and 40 seconds of the
game!!! We
played tough defense and learned how to work as a team again and again!! Next
game Tuesday, watch
us grow !!!

It’s two in a row for the Little Lady Knights – Rome beats visiting Central
Square (9-4)
Tonight’s
game was another display of teamwork. At first we were playing as though we
just came back from Spring Break but then all of a sudden we remembered how to
catch the ball and where to run. I love to see the newer girls on the team
being passed to and having the others depend on them. Pressure at its finest. Leigh
Nicholas came up with some awesome defensive saves so did Kelsey Lovett and
Michelle Baker . Michelle ran more tonight then ever in practice (ha-ha). I
never imagined when I told Shannon Farrell to stick to her girl like glue she
would take me seriously and knock her player over within minutes of
starting the game. Next time remember Shannon, I meant figuratively stick
to your girl, let her run at least. Good work girls way to go defense... way to
go offense!!! 10 more games to go. Lets keep up the good work !! Coach Bledsoe
April 15,2005 – Rome
Wins their home opener over visiting Oswego (8-4)
What an outstanding game for our young Lady Knights! I
would love to mention everyone’s name since we played soooooo well as a team
for our first game. It was awesome. I wanted to mention that Leigh
Nicholas and Michelle Baker had some great saves back on defense. Angela
Marccocia had a great game on the wing as attack. What a great game ALL of
our seventh graders had since some of them had never even picked up a
stick before . We had two new 8th graders playing that gave us some great runs,
saves and as one of them said “Only 3 covers over the ball…ha-ha”. With just
two and a half weeks of practice, we really looked like a team that knew what
they were doing. I attribute that to working on and off season, in the
winter and in the summer. If we want to get better, we need to keep our girls with a stick in their
hands as much as possible. Good Job Little Lady Knights! - Coach Bledsoe
and Coach Pfendler
