a disappointing non-league loss to Guilderland, the spirits of the J.V. team

Rome storms to a win over visiting Oswego….R.F.A. 5 – Oswego 4
What an anticlimax to our season! This was a great game and we were going to beat this team, I am sure, but the thunder and lightning got the best of us. This was not much fun playing half a game and then walking away with a win, by rain being a factor. Altogether this was a fun season with lots of excitement and great girls. We will miss our 8th graders and look forward to our 7th graders as they improve…..REMEMBER WALLBALL ALL SUMMER!!!

What an outstanding game we played against West Genesee!!! First goal of the season for Kelsey Lovett (gotta Love it scored)! We were even ahead at one point in the game after having been scored on 5 times in a row. A great finish for our away games. One more to go and we hope to see as many if not more goals from our girls on Tuesday. Our mean and hungry defense even scored twice. Kayla Dewey and MacKenzie Williams ran in for a goal a piece…you go girls!!! Nice loss with lots of goals to a very nice team!!! We were also thrilled when a J.V. player (Stacey Foley) and a senior varsity captain (Meghan DePaul) gave up an afternoon and joined us on the sidelines, cheering for the Little Lady Knights. Thanks guys!!!–Coach Bledsoe
Modified falls to Baldwinsville at
home….R.F.A. 7 – Baldwinsville 13
A great game was played by all. Every modified player was able to play. We were a team that tried our best. B’ville’s team was gracious and the players were very nice. We enjoyed the friendly competition. – Coach Bledsoe
J.V.

R.F.A. pulled ahead
after a halftime score of R.F.A. 4 - Fulton 3, and never looked back! Great
team work girls!
Modified suffers defeat at West Genesee…R.F.A.
4 – West Genesee 13
A tough game to play. We played tough and tried our best against a very good team. No one can deny the lacrosse ability in West Genesee. Kathryn had an outstanding game in goal, can you imagine what the score would have been if our goalies were not stepping up in defense!!! Good job girls! Four more games left, let’s get the next one for R.F.A.’s Little Lady Knights!! – Coach Bledsoe
Modified wins another over host Fayetteville-Manlius …R.F.A. 8 – F.M. 7
A very HOT night to play lacrosse. The young Lady Black Knights held off their
opponents while trying to stay calm and cool.
Everyone put forth a valiant effort in tonight’s game!! – Coach Bledsoe
Modified ties one at home against visiting
C.N.S. (Gillette)…R.F.A. 10 – C.N.S. 10
We
always love to see so many people involved in making goals on our team, besides
all the defense that goes into a game!!! MacKenzie Williams, Kayla Dewey and
Catherine Puma came up with some nice saves, as did Leigh Nicholas and Victoria
Caravalo. We also wish you could have
seen Concetta Combs come out of the pack with a great save!! The heat was
exhausting but we enjoyed a tie with a nice visiting team.–Coach Bledsoe
Modified
suffers a tough loss on the road……R.F.A. 9 – Fayetteville-Manlius 11
This
was a tough game. Our defense really cranked it up at the last minute to save
some potential goals shot on us. Thank you girls….The better team lost, but as
they say….NO EXCUSES, NO REGRETS!!!!
J.V. team wins at
The J.V. team was losing at halftime, but came back
to win!!! Great Job Girls!!!
We
like games that have low goalie save scores! This means our defense was tight
and hard to break through.
An
outstanding game was played by all the girls.
It was cold, but the girls kept going, giving 100%! GOOD JOB
GIRLS!!!
Modified ties on the road with East
Syracuse-Minoa!
A very aggressive game was played at ESM, goals
were few, but worth the effort! There
were no assists in
this game, but you could call all 25 girls as
assisting, as it was a very defensive game. Our Most Valuable Defensive Player
was Kathryn Cole, our goalie. She had 20 saves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leigh Nicholas, Victoria Ceravalo & Kayla
Dewey were invaluable on defense as well.
Laura Schilling,
Samantha Archer, Abby DePaul, Carley Young,
Kristin Metzger & Jamie Merchant on wings, Melissa
Cignarale & Merideth Stuart in center, each
ran a few miles this game. We exchanged
ends of the field
constantly. It was a
hard fought game!! Great Job Girls!
We had 11 out of 26 people involved in scoring
or assisting. This is a team that works together
after just a short
amount of time. YOU GO GIRLS!!!
