5-8-10 - Varsity hosted the visitors from Frontier Central (located in Hamburg, NY), on the windiest game day yet this season.  RFA dominated the first half leading 5-0 at half-time. However, the winds were in Frontier's favor in the second half as Frontier came back out-scoring Rome 7-0.  Final score Frontier 7-5 over the the Lady Knights.

5-1-10 - The Modified Team had a great day for their Tag Day event. Thanks to our local businesses that let the girls collect outside their doors.  Those businesses were:  Ace Hardware, Supercuts, Mazzaferro's, Dunkin Donuts, Nice'N Easy and Teddys. (Click here for a few photos...)

5-1-10 - Varsity's car wash was a success! We had great weather and a great location across from the Rome Home Show (great idea Mrs. Hojnacki).  Thanks to all the expert car washers and sign holders that helped out. Thanks to our parent organizers & helpers: Duane Wheeler, Andrea Hojnacki, Enzo Cacciatori, Tara Famolaro, Laurie Noone and Lynn Smith, we couldn't have done it without all of you.  Special thanks to Frank Sanzone for the lunch time pizzas!    4-28-10 - RFA took the early lead in Wednesday's match-up against the top-ranked West Genny Wildcats, but the Wildcats soon came back strong winning the game 21-5. The Lady Knights stood strong and never gave up.  A Tailgate Party at the Turf, followed the game (which moved under the stadium due to weather conditions). Special thanks to the captains Erin & Erica for organizing (with a little help from their Moms), Mr. Foley on the grill, Mr. Cacciatori, Mr. Wheeler, Mrs. Famolaro, Mrs. Hojnacki, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Mr. Pinti from Stadium Support.  Thanks to all the players and their families for their food contributions and support of the event.  It was a great turn-out!  We hope it becomes an annual event!   - The game was also covered by our local, My Hometown Sports newspaper.  The article and additional great game photos can  be found on their website.    4-22-10 - Varsity's Thruway Fans witnessed RFA's first league win of the season against the Black Knights of Henninger. The cold wind didn't stop the Lady Knights as the score went back and forth during both halves.  Half time score was RFA 5-4. At the 7:50 mark in the 2nd half Henninger led 7-5, but at the 2:12 mark RFA sophomore, Meghan McCormick, tied the score at 7-7.  Henninger's Claire Gigler, got the lead back at 1:17 mark.  RFA sophmore, Alexa Sanzone, came back and tied it for Rome with an unassisted goal at the 59.6 second mark bringing the score to 8-8.  RFA sophomore, Rebecca Kieffer, came back to score the winning goal of the game, at the 8 second mark, off an assist from Meghan McCormick to give Rome their first league win of the season with a score of 9-8. Nice job Lady Knights! The celebration continued after the game at Papa Rick's Ice Cream stand.  (Season record 2-6.)

4-20-10  - Varsity played the visiting Liverpool Warriors in Tuesday's 11:00 spring break match-up at the stadium. Varisty out scored the Warriors in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 1st half deficit of 13-2.  Final score Liverpool 17-7. It was the Varsity teams' 50th consecutive game without a shutout.

4-13-10 - Thanks to all of tonight's "Fans in the Stands".  Special thanks to all the following that helped with tonight's event:  Marcus Campos, our announcer, Brittany Bartlett, our singer, Theresa  Mott & Duane Wheeler, our 50/50 team, Lynn Smith & Laurie Noone, our program distribution team, Wendy Bowers (Modified Mom), Cathy Thomas and Andrea Hojnacki for helping out in our Concession Stand and our corporate sponsor, Price Chopper. We're still verifying the number of attendees, but it appears to be close to our previous record, we'll keep you posted.  Best of all, congratulations to our varsity team and coaches on their first win of the season by a score of 11-4 over the visiting Whitesboro Warriors.    3-28-10 - Varsity spent their Sunday afternoon on a field trip to the Dome to watch a Division I women's lacrosse game, as Syracuse played the visitors from Rutgers in a 1:00 match-up.  Syracuse won 17-10.  The R.F.A. girls were visited in the stands by Otto, as they were busy cheering for the Orange.  (Click here for slideshow...)

3-12-10 - Unfortunately, due to an insufficient number of eligible players interested in playing lacrosse this season, our program will not have a junior varsity team this year.

Nov. 2009 - Congratulations to Erin Thomas & Erica Foley on their early signings of National Letters of Intent to play Division I Lacrosse in the Fall of 2010.  Erin will be playing for St. Bonaventure University & Erica will be playing for Binghamton University.  (Click here for Rome Sentinel Article....)
